Scouting in the Conejo Valley
with
Lodge #2477

The Elks are quite active with both the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and Girl Scouts of America. With numerous activities throughout the year, the Elks goal is to provide the Troops / Units with the kind of support these Scouts need to be successful!

"Scouting Around" for Elks

The Elks Lodge sponsors 2 Troops, #754 (which meets in Newbury Park), and #763 (which meets in Dos Vientos), 2 Cub Packs (#3763, #3776) and 3 Venture Crews.

Some of the activities that BPO Elks Lodge 2477 help out with include:

  • Tall Ship Trips to Catalina
  • Mountain Repelling
  • Backpacking
  • Camping
  • Rafting
  • Bowling and Sports

Venture Crews

Venture Crew (formerly Explorer scouts) is a group of older boys and girls who have a theme. There are currently 3 Venture Crews (only Scouts can join but any Elks member can assist).

Venture Crew #9999 is the Drum Line. This musicians group enjoys getting together to play instruments, play and compete with other Drum Lines both locally and nationally

Venture Crew #9696:A Day Camp which meets during the Summer (in Simi valley).

Venture Crew #9788 Dance Group. This is just recently formed for Scouts that enjoy dancing and competing in dance contests.

How YOU as an Elk in our Lodge can help.

Wherever you turn - if it's about scouting in the Conejo you'll see the faces of Elks at the Eagle Courts of Honor, Brownie Olympics, cooking hot dogs for hundreds of hungry scouts or setting an example for the youth in our community to be able to follow in their footsteps.

Moreover, while the scouting leaders are the most visible, there are plenty of other members of the lodge that make all of scouting possible for so many young people. Activities to keep them doing more for our planet while learning important life-long skills that they may not have the opportunity to learn anywhere else. Elks Care, Elks Share.
