Elks Ladies “South of the Border” Annual Fundraiser
On Saturday March 7th, the Elks Ladies of Thousand Oaks Lodge #2477 held their annual fundraiser with a “South of the Border” theme. There were over 90 people in attendance. Below are pictures highlighting the event.

CHEA Contributors Recognized at Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge #2477
The first meeting of every month is held in honor of the “Purple Pig”, which is the mascot of our California-Hawaii Elks Association’s Major Project. On Wednesday February 4th members were honored for their generous contribution efforts to the “Purple Pig”. Below is a picture of the recipients of certificates for this month. L-R they are Pam Price, Bill Sternberg, Diane Scott, Pati Herrod and Daryl Kopacz. Thank you for you dedication to the CHEA Major Project. Our children need your support and the support of every Elk.

Distribution of food for our Christmas Basket Project begins
Every year members of Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge #2477 team up to make our Christmas Basket Program a success. These “Baskets” are actually boxes filled with food for families in need. The number of boxes range from two to as many as seven. The boxes are filled with enough food for one week and a holiday meal. Deliveries to those with children also include gifts wrapped by our Elks Ladies. The deliveries include fresh fruit, eggs, milk, bread, canned fruit and vegetables, cereal and much more. The holiday meal is typically a turkey, all of which are donated by members of our lodge. Smaller households receive a holiday ham.
This is our local charity project and it continues to be a welcomed success. Over the past several years we have been assisted by the United Parcel Service (UPS) for larger deliveries to Senior Concerns. The contribution by UPS has made providing for this senior community more efficient and streamlined. We thank them for their support.

Another successful Christmas tree lot event for 2014 comes to an end
One of the most successful Christmas Tree Lot seasons has caused the lot to close ahead of schedule (we kinda ran out of trees). Closing out the season is our resident elf Janey and a few die hard Elks.

There is more going on at the Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge Christmas Tree Lot.
The first delivery of 250 trees nearly sold out in six days. Our second delivery came in yesterday Wednesday December 10th.
