A New Eagle Scout
On Sunday December 20, 2009 a Boy Scouts of America, Court of Honor was held for Dion Kucera at the Teledyne Scientific Center in Thousand Oaks, CA. with more than 200 friends, family and guests. Dion is a member of Troop 754 sponsored by the Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge #2477. Dion was presented with a plaque, American Flag, and his name was inscribed in a permanent plaque that hangs in the ante room of the Lodge.
Eagle Project
With the help of 29 volunteers totaling nearly 230 hours of work,
Dion’s Eagle Project repaired an 80 foot trail at the Conejo Valley
YMCA. The project entailed adding 14 railroad ties as “steps”, and
clearing brush along the side of the trail and adding woodchips for
beautification. The project was an incredible success, and it couldn’t
have been possible without the help of donors, scouts, adults, family,
and friends. I would also like to thank Mr. Reynolds for his guidance
on my Eagle Project.
