On Sunday June 14, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks recognizes this day as Flag Day. This is the day we recognize and pay tribute to the flag of our country. There were 75 members and parents of the scouting groups that Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge #2477 sponsors. The scouts presented the colors and replica flags that have graced our nation from the beginning until today and also is included the MIA flag.

In order of appearance: Andrew Clements BSA 754 Pine Tree; Lexie Seligman GSA 60060 Snake; Spencer Dietrich BSA 754 Two Crosses; Chandler Meshwork 60050 13 Stars; Evan Coppersmith BSA 754 15 Stars; Kevin Driscoll 763 48 Stars; Max Seligman POW; Ryan Barbee BSA 754 50 Stars.

After the Flag Day Ceremony a Flag Retirement took place out doors starting with Terry Gicking, Exalted Ruler and everyone else who wanted to retire a flag was encouraged to do so. There was an ice cream social concluding the day.
